Senior Manager, Security Training, Awareness & Communication – Job Vacancy in Toronto, Ontario – Canada

Job Description

  • Defines, develops, executes, and maintains security awareness and training program to inform and educate Hydro One employees (including temporary contractors)
  • Works with internal team, external vendors and training providers to identify appropriate training programs for CSO function within Hydro One
  • Assesses communication effectiveness, overall awareness program, and coordinates with Corporate Communication regarding cybersecurity risk management communications with the business and external parties
  • Plans and schedules security training and awareness activities across the enterprise including webinars, lunch and learn, etc.
  • Define program metrics, statistics, and measure/track performance of various awareness and training program initiatives

    TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Recognized as a thought leader in security awareness and training program and standing up the capability to achievement of security function objectives
  • Directs the security awareness and training initiatives and ensures ongoing delivery of all activities, decisions and results associated with execution of the programs
  • Leverages subject matter expertise to develop training programs and works with experts to leverage knowledge based on industry frameworks (NIST, ISO etc.)
  • Leads practical exercises such as phishing campaigns and table-top exercises
  • Leads risk culture awareness and training activities relating to cybersecurity
  • Interfaces with the business and enterprise to identify and assess security training requirements

    NATURE OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Accountable for setting security awareness and training processes and programs
  • Structures senior management advice on matters of material importance to security awareness and training and ensure cybersecurity risks are socialized
  • Works with appropriate stakeholders at enterprise level to plan, recruit, train, reward and retain security talent with the right skill set and knowledge to help the org meet its security vision and goals

    PROGRAM LEADERSHIP

  • Works proactively with security and enterprise teams to consider key cybersecurity risks and how to help address them via program initiatives
  • Ensures efficient utilization of the security learnings, knowledge of assets, people, and systems across the organization
  • Works with the enterprise learning group to determine training delivery mechanisms
  • Creates a positive and progressive program that engages employees, reduces the human risk factors, and influences behavioral and cultural changes

    BUSINESS EXPERTISE

  • Works closely with the corporate communication team to finalize all memos/notices sent from the CSO function to the larger audience
  • Sustains and improves the awareness and training program by staying up to date on current and emerging trends and participating in industry events
  • Develops highly effective and engaging awareness content using a wide variety of content formats, different distribution techniques, and engagement with businesses to ensure the program has the greatest reach possible

    PROBLEM SOLVING

  • Proactively identifies and solves the security awareness and communication issues that impact CISO function and at the enterprise level
  • Manages and maintains information to ensure content is kept updated and reflects changing requirements within the organization and changes in cybersecurity risk

    STAKEHOLDERS MANAGEMENT

  • Communicates on the security awareness and communication issues with CSO function and at the enterprise level as needed
  • Accountable for negotiating critical security awareness planning and execution matters with the broader audience and assisting in decision making at the senior executive level
