Damage Prevention Technician- Job Vacancy in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
What You’ll Do Here:
- Operate drilling equipment and follow all standard operating procedures while maintaining a safe work environment
- Perform U-Bend loop installation and grouting by operating grouter, tremie reel, despooler and other related equipment.
- Transport equipment and tooling to drilling location and follow all rules and regulations outlined by the MTO
- Operate construction equipment such as excavator, all terrain forklifts, man lifts, skid steers, and front-end loaders.
- Conduct geotechnical drilling programs (i.e. monitoring borehole production, monitoring borehole decommissions, monitoring rig repairs, bedrock corings, etc.)
- Run and maintain hose lines and water connections.
- Clean and maintain equipment and tooling
- Assist with maintenance and repair of drilling equipment
- Inventory management and data entry of QA/QC information.
- Multi-task and perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Handle and distribute construction materials (e.g., load and unload vehicles with supplies, equipment, and construction materials; move tools, equipment, and construction materials to and from work areas).
- Instruct and train junior personnel in duties, safe work practices, care and use of tools and equipment.
- Complete work-related safety documents and submit in a timely manner
- Reading drawings and determining measurements
- Carry out manual labour duties such lifting and working with materials weighing up to 25kg.

What You Bring to the Team:
- Minimum of 1 year drilling experience an asset
- Any prior soil stabilization, grouting, or foundation mitigation experience considered an asset
- Capacity for manual dexterity with physical strength and stamina.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and effectively work on teams with a desire to provide excellent customer service.
- Valid DZ license
- Ability to interpret drawings, develop / interpret work, instructions, and plan projects for self and others.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Energy to use stairs, ladders, and climb over rough terrain.
- Capability to work long hours per day in all weather conditions.
- Able to work a 21 and 7 shift out of town.
