Community Investment Coordinator – Job Vacancy in Toronto, Ontario – Canada

General Accountabilities

  • Participate in developing communication to employees about Community Investment events / strategies at Hydro One. This can include: developing a communication campaign and collaborating with the Corporate Communications team (and potentially external parties).
  • Coordinate all activities related to the Hydro One Employees’ and Pensioners’ Charity Campaign, including assisting with the coordination of Spark, assisting in the development of communications materials, and assisting in the planning and execution of fundraising events.
  • Assist in the tracking, monitoring, and communicating of Community Investment projects’ progress against the Community Investment strategy and respect project plans, requirements, quality measures, budget and milestones.
  • Provide support to the broader Internal Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility team as required.
  • Assist in acting as a liaison on Community Investment issues and support Community Investment reporting processes, working with Lines of Business, other departments and Communications.
  • Serve as a contributor for Community Investment-related content in reports, web sites and Intranet.
  • Assist in the development and execution of employee events including webcasts, meetings, campaigns, and other events.
  • Assist in the preparation of corporate policies related to corporate donations, sponsorships, fundraising, volunteerism and related programs.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Selection Criteria:

  • A high level of knowledge and skill in the field of community investment, Corporate Social Responsibility and communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and interact comfortably with a wide range of levels in the organization: from senior executives to support staff within and outside of the company.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across all levels of the company and various Lines of Business.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demanding tasks at once as well as resolve complex problems and issues that arise.
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning and management.
  • Demonstrated experience in CSR reporting.
  • Excellent knowledge of issues facing the electricity industry and Hydro One.
  • Requires knowledge of CSR, communications, community investment, public relations and/or marketing.  This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of university training (Grade XII plus 4 years) and post-graduate college studies.
  • 6-8 years’ experience working in community investment and CSR.
