Superintendent – Infrastructure – Job Vacancy in Bellevue, Washington, United States

As a Superintendent as Graham, you will:

  • Manage and participate in the development of construction strategies, project execution planning, scheduling, and estimating.
  • Play an integral role in all stages of the estimating cycle, with ownership of accountability for the estimate and an understanding of the plan created as a result.
  • Communicate consistently with subcontractors and staff the expectations and directions regarding schedules, construction methods, company policies and procedures, permits, safety/loss prevention, quality control, and other performance standards.
  • Manage the process of developing scope strategies for subcontracts and self-performed work, and assigning of subject matter experts of resources accordingly.
  • Review and approve the submissions and revisions of project drawings with subcontractors and other superintendents.
  • Implement the coordination of and adherence to the project safety plan.
  • Review construction drawings and specifications, planning and preparation of execution, inspection, testing, and safe work plans, and pre-empt problem areas.
  • Manage team members and conduct performance reviews. With guidance from a senior Superintendent, carry out performance management, disciplinary action, termination, back charges and other required actions.
  • Review billable charges for materials and subcontractor requisitions and approve or deny as appropriate.
  • Facilitate all Progress and Safety meetings with all subcontractor representatives and review and obtain agreement on upcoming work to be accomplished.
  • Ensure project closeout is appropriately finalized to settle all financial obligations, demobilize all resources, and transition the project to the client.
  • Understand the project specifications and general conditions of the contract, and confirm that all materials and work comply with the contract and quality specifications.
  • Maintain a planning cycle that encompasses 6 months of project execution regarding materials, schedules, and crew.
  • Review the project planning, direction, organization, and budgeting of all self-performed and subcontracted construction work.
  • Review the management of the project budget by controlling expenses, administering owner and subcontractor billings, and identifying work not covered by subcontractor’s scope of work/budget.
  • Review the development and management of the contract’s general conditions, construction phases, and buyout strategy during preconstruction.
  • Manage the experience of customers to ensure positive relationships are established and maintained, including direct participation in change and conflict management.
  • Assist, conduct, and coach worker(s) in Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs), and Behavior Based Safety.
  • Know and comply with client requirements, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, and all applicable government laws and regulations.
  • Communicate the PSQP to the project site team including subcontractors. Execute the PSQP and implementation of all quality activities on site.

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Varying years of experience will be considered: 5-20 years of commercial construction experience and a minimum of 3-8 years in a supervisory capacity role
  • Project experience in towers and/ or commercial finishes considered an asset
  • As a commercial superintendent has completed at least a single project valuing $40M or greater
  • Knows the impact of change on cost and schedule
  • Knowledge of construction engineering and design
  • Work closely with the project manager to ensure success on the project
