Senior Pension Advisor – Corporate Services – Job Vacancy in Calgary, Alberta, Canada

As a Senior Pension Advisor at Graham you will:

  • Work closely with HR Advisory, employees and vendors.
  • Plan for and lead both the Pension and 401k committee meetings.
  • Respond and resolve pension and 401k tickets.
  • Identify, resolve and maintain plan governance for Canada and the US.
  • Assist payroll with the annual 401k audit.
  • Process the quarterly 401k contribution match.
  • Troubleshoot & resolve demographic file issues.
  • Prepare and submit annual government forms.
  • Monitors the market and proactively develops best practice recommendations to support the company’s growth.
  • Develops and executes a communication education strategy to increase employee knowledge and meet fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Year-end pension & 401k activities.
  • Develop, follow, adhere to, and execute best practice in alignment with legislative, vendor, requirements, and internal policy.
  • Maintain current understanding of the provincial or state (city) legislation relating to employer savings programs.
  • Identify impact and integration activity related to acquisitions.
  • Process plan amendments as necessary.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Completion of a high school diploma; degree in Human Resources or Business is preferred or relevant combination of education, training and experience.
  • Completion of PPAC, RPA or CEBs certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an organization of similar size and complexity; US 401k experience is an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of pension plan administration
  • Experience working with other plan designs and understanding the value of offering.
  • Strong awareness of and ability to communicate the base level value of the savings plans to employees.
  • Thorough understanding of Canadian and US savings programs.
  • Thorough understanding of different plans and designs, and ability to speak to the offering and provide different solutions.
  • Proficiency using SAP, MS Office Suite, and some third-party software platforms.
