Scheduler – Water- Job Vacancy in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

As a Scheduler at Graham, you will:

  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and project documents to develop the project master schedule.
  • Ability to understand project scope and develop schedule Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Prepare the project master schedule for high complexity / major projects in accordance with the contract requirements, company best practices and Scheduling best practices using the Critical Path Method
  • Ability to cost and resource load the schedule
  • Update project schedule at regular intervals, monitor and analyze changes to the schedule and the critical path.
  • Ability to conduct schedule delay analysis to support Extension On Time (EOT)/Cost claims
  • Develop and issue short term look-ahead schedules
  • Understand contract obligations as they relate to the project schedule and project milestones and define and communicate the drivers and interfaces with third parties that may affect such milestones in the schedule basis narrative.
  • Work and establish a positive rapport with the client (or client scheduling consultants) to approve and establish a project baseline schedule that reflects the project duration and project milestones as defined in the contract documents
  • Prepare Bid Management schedules for major pursuits by collaborating with design consultants, estimators, and the Bid Manager
  • Determine and document the interfaces (inputs and outputs) between design, procurement, construction, and permitting
  • Report schedule performance in the form of a regularly published Schedule Performance Report that contains progress dashboards, Earned Value Analysis / Schedule Performance Index, S-curves, Milestone Trend Analysis, Variance Analysis, and areas of concern.
  • Identify and communicate areas of risk and opportunity as it relates to the project schedule and participate in response planning.
  • Propose corrective actions relating to production and lead discussions on such corrective actions, schedule mitigation measures, and resequencing with the project team.
  • Prepare project schedule basis narrative with the RFP/Tender/Baseline schedule development and with each schedule update during the project execution.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Equivalent to completion of a diploma training program (Civil, Mech or Electrical) at a college or technical school; degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
  • 3+ years of Planning / Scheduling experience on process facility construction projects preferably on Industrial, Water & Wastewater projects.
  • Experience using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • PMP, PMI-SP, PSP, EIT, P.Eng., CCDA, and/or CET (Certified Engineering Technologist) designation is an asset.
  • Experience working on a least one project from initiation to closeout.
  • Direct exposure to the construction industry is required.
