PV Plant Designer (Remote) – Job Vacancy in Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto,Canada
How will you contribute to the team?
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Designer is required for performing detailed design of Utility Scale PV solar plants including
- supporting and assisting with tender preparation, planning, prepare conceptual, basic & detail engineering and, construction and commissioning support.
- Knowledge and experience with PV Solar plants equipment and systems.
- Proven experience in Utility Scale PV plant layouts and optimization.
- Ability to prepare Pile GPS location documentation.
- Ability to design/prepare schematics and trenching design for AC/DC Collection System.
- SCADA experience for PV plants is consider an asset.
- Ability to work on detailed design of DC string cable/harnesses design, cable racing, AC/DC cable trenching.
What will you contribute?
- Electrical Engineer or Electrical engineering technician with 8-10 years of experience.
- 5 yrs experience in designing of Utility Scale PV.
- Understanding of engineering standards (document preparation, drafting, QA/QC process).
- Strong ACAD skills for plant layouts and cable designs.
- Knowledge of Technical Standards applicable to PV solar plant Utility scale.
- Knowledge of PVSyst and Heliscope software is an asset.
- Knowledge of other PV plant design software like PV case is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and demonstrated sound judgment of technical decisions.
- Must already be legally permitted to work in Canada and have PE Licence.
- Willing to travel with no restriction to visit the US frequently as well as other countries as required.
- Systematic thinking, organizational awareness, and willingness to seek and share information.
