Planner and Scheduler- Job Vacancy in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada

You as an ICI Planner and Scheduler will be responsible for:

  • Develop a full Critical Path Method (CPM) logic generated baseline schedules for projects.
  • Participate in the planning and schedule preparation process during pursuits and respond to RFP documents in projects.
  • Prior to project start, create and revise preliminary master schedules and proposal for Operations detailing the sequence of all work to be performed to ensure schedule is realistic and competitive
  • Evaluate construction progress and perform regular progress updates (bi-weekly or monthly) and prepare the reports for evaluation of the schedule health. Maintain the integrity of the master schedule for each project and identify and record the impact of work performed according to the schedule. Prepare and maintain the project schedule log on a regular basis.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining a database of construction productivity rates, procurement durations, lead times and project risk items
  • Identify unplanned events (new changes/ unforeseen conditions) and incorporate their impacts into the schedule
  • Develop as-built versus as-planned schedules to provide a manageable “snapshot” comparison of the project schedule

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have a construction related degree/diploma and 3 – 4  years of ICI Construction scheduling experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling related software such as: Oracle-Primavera P6, Acumen Fuse/Risk, MS Project, TILOS (in Civil Projects), digital Pull Planning software (Hoylu or similar), and other related software.
  • Familiar with different types of project delivery methods such as P3 (Public Private Partnership), CCDC contracts, Lump Sum, Design Build, GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price), Project Management, Construction Management and Unit Price.
  • You have the ability to coordinate multiple schedules, solve schedule conflicts under pressure and understanding the complex construction sequence
