OHS Manager – Hybrid – Job Vacancy in Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Primary responsibilities

  • Collaborate and participate in the implementation of strategic solutions
  • Provide technical OHS support to the project team
  • Ensure compliance with governmental regulations, standards of practice, best practices and the client’s policy
  • Provide expert advice to managers to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of OHS contractual requirements and obligations.
  • Contribute to the roll-out of the supplier compliance audit program
  • Develop and optimize OHS management processes
  • Analyze the contractor’s data and performance
  • Implementation and management of performance indicators
  • Collaborate to the preparation, manage, and ensure the follow-up of OHS letters.
  • Collaborate to document review and compliance monitoring (legal, contractual, etc.)
  • Contribute to the development of functional or operational strategies (including support to commercial positions)
  • Ensure the implementation of all OHS file follow-up and management mechanisms, for all aspects of the project
  • Provide support for the OHS aspects of proposals and ensure compliance with granted contracts. When required, provide advice on issues related to OHS and CNESST cases
  • Base decisions on best practices, standards of practices and project priorities

Profile

  • At least ten years of OHS experience in an industrial environment, and at least five years of experience in major construction projects in a management or coordination role
  • Knowledge of OHS requirements in general and for Quebec specifically (LSST, RSST, CSTC, etc.), as well as applicable standards
  • General knowledge of major risks associated with large-scale construction projects
  • Command of the French language (English – an asset)
  • Proven ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt, and agility
  • Ability to prioritize work within tight deadlines
  • Advanced practical knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
