Materials Management Advisor – Maintenance and Turnaround – Job Vacancy in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada

As a Materials Management Advisor at Graham, you will:

  • Contribute to meeting or exceeding annual project materials management performance targets
  • Coordinate the unloading, receiving, control and distribution of construction materials to various contractors in the assigned area
  • Ensure the accurate and valid receipt of physically received materials during delivery
  • Manage the process of integrating the materials receipt into the inventory management system
  • Label all materials before entering into the system and respective storage locations
  • Visually inspect all materials and direct to quality assurance testing when required
  • Propose procedural recommendation to support the ongoing development of materials management activities
  • Meet regularly with contractor’s materials management representatives to discuss and update future plans for materials and provide appropriate information to the project team
  • Collaborate regularly with home office supply chain management, construction management, and contractor material management personnel to ensure materials arrive at construction site on time
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained in operating areas

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Three or more years of experience in supply chain, specifically materials management and/or construction execution
  • Experience operating material handling equipment such as a forklift or a loader
  • Post-secondary degree in business or supply chain preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Preference for:

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Access and Excel is preferred
  • Knowledge of material, equipment and warehousing day-to-day activities, as well as the safety regulation related to material handling
  • SAP and/or material management systems experience is beneficial
  • Collaboration with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • The ability to understand complex processes, and strive to develop and implement continuous improvement and creative process enhancements

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Firebag Site, located north of Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • The shift schedule is a 8 days on/6 days off rotation, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
