Manager, Government and Industry Stakeholder Relations- Job Vacancy in Montreal, Quebec, Canada

What YOU Will Do:

  • Advise the VP and senior business leaders on top government relations issues and topics.
  • Develop and execute action plans, and track results, for the government relations strategy.
  • Grow direct relationships with government officials in portfolios like infrastructure/construction.
  • Engage with regional industry association to expand relationships and mobilize these networks.
  • Gain deep understanding of political, policy, project priorities that are critical for the business.
  • Build personal expertise and knowledge related to infrastructure / construction by conducting research and analysis about trends and opportunities in public policy relevant to the business.
  • Serve as a lobbying expert, in cooperation with Legal, regarding corporate understanding of laws, policies, rules, and educate and train employees about lobbying best practices.
  • Reach government and industry audiences, including site visits or industry events, in cooperation with Communications.
  • Collaborate with peers on the internal government relations committee.

What YOU Will Bring

 

  • Exceptional bilingual oral and written communications skills in French and English are required.
  • University degree, preferably a Masters, with specialization in business, political science, public policy or a field related to infrastructure / construction.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience with a private or public organization.
  • Demonstrated track record of strategic analysis with an ability to assess government positions and provide clear written and oral advice to business and government leaders.
  • Expertise in government relations at provincial levels, with know-how in developing government and industry partnerships.
  • Foundational knowledge about infrastructure and construction.
  • Understanding of lobbying laws and best practices.
  • Technical skills using PowerPoint, Salesforce, Excel or other planning tools.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to translate strategies into practical next steps.
  • Good instincts about politics and public policy.
  • Diplomatic and trustworthy personality with sound judgment.
