Intermediate Structural Engineer – Remote – Job Vacancy in Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Primary Responsibilities

An immediate opportunity currently exists in Calgary for an Intermediate Structural Engineer. The ideal candidate will be required to have a good university level understanding of concrete and steel design. You will work concurrently on projects with a range of complexity, construction value and at different stages in the procurement cycle.

You will draw on your proactive and analytical problem-solving skills to deliver structural solutions working under supervision and supporting larger interdisciplinary teams.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree Civil / Structural Engineering
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in consulting engineering in a Canadian work environment
  • Registered P.Eng. through APEGA or EGBC
  • Completes engineering proposals and tasks on budget and schedule
  • Experience in heavy industries such as Oil & Gas, Mining and Pulp & Paper
  • Seals project drawings and reports prepared under his or her direction
  • Ability to represent the company to the staff, clients and community
  • Experience in substation design experience will be an advantage
  • Has extensive experience in the design of buildings and foundations
  • Has advanced knowledge of dynamic analysis and design of heavy equipment foundations and support structures
  • Conducts structural inspections in an industrial environment
  • Proficient in the use of STAAD or similar software.
