HSE Coordinator – Buildings – Job Vacancy in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

As a HSE Coordinator at Graham, you will:

  • Take responsibility for own health, safety, and environmental protection, as well as that of the public, and visitors to the site(s).
  • Conduct project-specific safety orientation with all workers and visitors new to the worksite prior to commencement of work on the project.
  • Confirm that equipment inspections, preparation of reports, and follow-up on all noted deficiencies are completed.
  • Report any noncompliant conditions to the responsible project Superintendent / Supervisor.
  • Assist in BBS assessments, when required.
  • Confirm through inspections that controlled products supplied to projects are accompanied by a corresponding current SDS / MSDS, and other documentation as required by local government regulations.
  • Confirm through observations that the ERP and other related emergency documents, bulletins, and notices are posted and communicated to workers.
  • Attend and participate in HSE meetings.
  • Review incident reports and maintain monthly statistics to identify undesirable trends.
  • Conduct project inspections with the project Superintendent and worker to support hazard identification.
  • Arrange or conduct HSE training for workers.
  • Participate in the coordination of safe work with the sub-trades on site.
  • Participate in the injury management program
  • Participate in incident investigations and verification of corrective actions
  • Be a leader in the continuous improvement of safety culture.

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • High school graduation and preferred completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school.
  • Certification in Health and Safety, or a safety designation is an asset.
  • 3+ years of experience in safety or a related field.
  • Must have experience working on Commercial Building projects.
  • Understanding of how HSE MS systems work.
  • Understanding of general constructability.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and online reporting software.
