Other Details:

Part-time support opportunity (classification): Summer Student (May 2022 – August 2022)

Hours: 40 hours per week, some evening and weekend work will be required.

DUTIES:

Assists with:

  • Regular litter pickup from all grounds areas and sweeping of paved surfaces.
  • Regular garbage collection from outside containers.
  • Tree maintenance, pruning and removal of trees. Chipping and mulching of waste material for recycle.
  • Landscape maintenance.
  • General maintenance of grounds such as grass cutting/trimming using tractor, lawn mower and gas powered weed trimmer. Planning and planting of flowers, trees and shrubs, maintenance of flowerbeds, refreshing soils, weeding, aerating, fertilizing, watering, seeding and sod installation.
  • Construction, installation and maintenance of exterior site features such as pre-cast concrete curbs, fixed and temporary barriers, signage, fencing and exterior furniture (benches, planters, etc.).
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be a current full-time post-secondary student and returning to studies in the fall of 2022.
  2. Experience working in grounds maintenance and using outdoor equipment.
  3. Ability to work in a team environment or independently and is reliable.
