Field Inspector – Job Vacancy in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
What You’ll Do Here:
- Coordinate and undertake planning and implementation of survey requirements to facilitate construction activities.
- Maintain accurate survey or inspection records, documentation, and stamped submittals.
- Performs on-site quality inspections.
- Inspects work both in progress and completed, to determine and ensure, that they comply with the project or inspection specifications.
- Assists with the preparation and verification of various technical reports.
- Identifies and reports work that does not meet the quality requirements.
- Collaborates with the construction field forces, managers and other departments, to determine approaches & methods to improve the overall quality of work being done.
- Follows up and maintains inspection documentation and the administration required.
- Completes all associated documentation and forms either in paper or electronically, for individual inspections, surveys, or QC reports.
- Assists with the tracking of non-conformance reports and corrective/ preventative action requests, when required.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Certified Engineering Technician (CTECH) designation with the Ontario Association of Certified Technician and Technologists (OACETT) or working towards a designation is considered an asset.
- Comfortable with working in confined spaces (chambers), inspecting Hydro and Telecom infrastructure.
- GPS (Global Station Positioning System) experience is considered an asset.
- Past Underground confined space work or survey experience would be considered an asset.
- Must have a valid Ontario G Driver’s license.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of engineering design and survey methods would be considered an asset.
- Safety conscious and able to adhere to a highly focused safety culture.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
