Estimator (Intermediate)- Job Vacancy in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
- You as an Estimator (Intermediate – Building Group) will:
- Be part of a team that sees through the completion of a bid process under pressure while building strong relationships with sub-trades
- Assemble accurate, timely and well organized estimates, including hard-bid, construction management and design-build
- Organize sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful, re-writing binders and assisting the buy-out process
- Monitor the success of a project, noting potential challenges and building relationships with sub-trades for future opportunities
- Distribute sub-trade quotes to personnel, flagging areas of concern and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the bid price
- Maintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing and project costs, for future reference
Is this the right role for you?
- Minimum 4 years of estimating experience or equivalent technical training/experience and have a construction related degree/diploma
- You have a working knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts
- You have the ability to work effectively and accurately in time sensitive situations within a team
- You possess or have the ability to obtain CISD Reliability and Secret Clearance
