Development Manager – Job Vacancy in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

As a Development Manager at Graham Capital you will:

  • Place an early focus on the growth of strong relationships with local municipalities while also having the opportunity for potential involvement in strategic projects in other areas of Canada or the USA.
  • With support of the Director, Development, identify potential projects and partnerships in the Water and Wastewater Utilities space to pursue.
  • Represent Graham in various forums including client meetings, presentations, and industry events to help build and establish the Graham brand in Ontario.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of construction contracts, including legal terminology, structure and terms & conditions.
  • With the support of the Graham Capital team, develop a good working knowledge of the financial models related to current and future P3 work.
  • Assist with the development of bid teams to contribute to the creation and review process of contracts and teaming agreements.
  • Assist with the development of pursuit strategies and coordinate the preparation of competitive and innovative proposals for our client partners.
  • Analyze potential contract or project risks and ensure that risks are managed effectively and proactively in collaboration with the Graham Capital team and other internal resources.
  • Provide input on design, construction and schedule during project development and execution.
  • Lead early project development activities while working with internal and external project personnel.
  • Provide regular and ongoing support through project execution and long-term operations.
  • Complete both internal and external reporting, analysis and presentations.

Qualifications/experience:

  • A degree in business or engineering is required.
  • Basic knowledge of project management, contract law, and finance is an asset.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of relevant construction industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of our markets in the Buildings and/or Infrastructure sectors.
  • Basic understanding of all aspects of project delivery, including preconstruction, estimating, design, financing, maintenance, and lifecycle.
  • Good commercial acumen, strong client focus, and excellent leadership potential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of different procurement processes.
  • A basic understanding of contract approaches across the market.
  • Good networking skills and a willingness to participate in various industry events and forums.
  • Creative thinking; an ability to generate workable solutions to problems.
