Design & Commissioning Manager- Job Vacancy in Vacancy Denver, Colorado, United States of America (USA)
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all cold and hot commissioning activities.
- Co-ordination of multiple parties to ensure efficient and safe execution of commissioning activities.
- Supervise troubleshooting activities during PV testing and performance testing during commissioning.
- Ensure the field team submits timely and accurate test results.
- Ability to analyze test results and provide recommendations for any results with unacceptable variances to predicted values.
- Responsible for the development of manuals and commissioning plans documentation.
- Responsible for the accurate and timely commissioning of MET station, communications, and SCADA systems.
- Attend site walks, quality & commissioning kick off meetings, and training sessions, and provide technical assistance during project execution as required.
- Works with local utilities and grid operators with the development of connection and energization documentation.
- Provides input on commissioning schedule development and implementation to the project team.
Qualifications
- Postsecondary diploma/engineering degree/trade licenses in a related discipline or relevant industry/trade background
- 7 to 10 years of progressive experience with 2 years of experience in utility-scale solar project construction.
- Knowledge and application of health, safety, and environment principles/procedures/ legislation.
- Knowledge of utility-scale solar construction industry, including building materials, construction specifications, methods in conjunction with procedures, safety, and quality management practices for more complex projects or scopes.
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritizes direct report tasks for prompt execution.
- Manage and lead the start-up commissioning process.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel for out of town commissioning projects.
Supervision/Direction
- Based on contract requirements and project size, direct and indirect reports may include a combination of students/interns, site engineers, project engineers.
- This includes mentoring and coaching of more junior staff.
