Cybersecurity Architect – Corporate Services- Job Vacancy in Calgary, Alberta, Canada

As a Cybersecurity Architect at Graham, you will:

  • Define the overall architecture in the technical area of expertise
  • Provide architectural oversight and detailed design for multiple systems, current and future
  • Collaborate with and lead the team to the vision using the appropriate resources to execute the design and implementation of the solution
  • Work closely with the client to find solutions to business needs
  • Design, define and implement appropriate standards, tools and services to optimize protection and detection capabilities of the cybersecurity team
  • Design, define and implement appropriate standards to optimize resilience
  • Work close with other IT architects to align standards
  • Work closely with other members of cybersecurity team to ensure compliance to the standards
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure service delivery aligns with cybersecurity strategy
  • Plan for regular, ongoing tasks like penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, audit remediations, etc
  • Work with Cybersecurity Director to measure/report KPI’s
  • Remain open to change, growth, and opportunities
  • Innovate and improve the process standards and influence others to adopt that standard
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to the greater IT and Cybersecurity team
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer within the technical team
  • Ensure any issues are resolved or communicated in a timely, effective manner
  • Manage expectations and maintain a focus on the budget
  • Display confidence in own technical ability and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrate a willingness to help others, and tenacity and curiosity to learn and solve problems
  • Leverage the industry network, staying ahead of the industry and implementing best practices balanced with business requirements and value
  • Articulate technical and business language in understandable terms, adjusting to the audience as required

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Completion of a university bachelor program in a technical, business, or scientific field of study is an asset; a degree in Computer Science or Information Security/Privacy is preferred
  • 10-12 years of relevant experience
  • Previous experience with decision making and ownership of decision impact is a great asset
  • Previous experience in a leadership or Team Lead capacity is an asset
  • Experience working within project-based companies is an asset
  • Construction experience is an asset
  • Deep technical knowledge and expertise in a technical area (cloud, analytics)
  • Software or application lifecycle experience
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn and seek out answers and new knowledge
  • Service desk processes and support experience
  • Proven experience / knowledge working with the business functions or processes and understanding how to use technology to solve the needs of the business
  • Strong experience in Office 365 Security/Compliance, as well as Exchange Online and SPF are assets
