Construction Quality Coordinator – Job Vacancy in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

You as a Construction Quality Coordinator will:

  • Be responsible for the implementation and management of an ISO9001 compliant Quality Management System at our construction sites
  • Work with subcontractors and suppliers to develop quality plans for their work activities
  • Prepare/coordinate the development of Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs) for all construction activities. Ensure that the ITPs are fully implemented, hold and witness points attended, and issues arising resolved expediently
  • Create and implement trade-specific Subcontractor Quality Plans (SQPs) including the identification of high risk and long lead time items
  • Create and complete project-specific installation checklists
  • Monitor execution of construction activities and assess compliance with respect to the construction quality management plan and Contract specifications
  • Monitor adequate closure of all surveillance issues, quality audit findings, nonconformities, etc.
  • Complete inspections and documentation associated with the receiving of components, products or other jobsite materials
  • Participate in consultant and client walkthroughs and assist with the identification, documentation and closure of deficiencies.

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have a Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or Architectural Science  and min 1 – 2 years of experience
  • You have a working knowledge of pertinent regulations, codes, and specifications related to the construction industry (an asset)
  • You have excellent communications skills and you enjoy working in a team environment
  • You have the ability to champion and lead the effective implementation of operational best practices, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives
  • You are a self-directed, motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • You are familiar with quality management systems (an asset)
