Commissioning Coordinator/Specialist – Water – Job Vacancy in Calgary, Alberta, Canada

As a Commissioning Coordinator or Specialist, you will:

  • Support the Commissioning Specialist/project team in management of construction completion, pre-startup, startup, testing, and commissioning of water and wastewater facilities (pump station, treatment plant, pipeline, etc.) keeping with the schedule and the safety procedures and quality standards required
  • Support Commissioning Specialist/project team in preparation of the detailed commissioning plan / checklist / procedure according to commissioning strategy, and project design documentation (project specification, redline drawings, Process Control Narrative, etc.)
  • Support Commissioning Specialist/project team to obtain stakeholder ‘buy in’ for test limits and protocols, including Shut Down request, LOTO request, Task Requisition From, Permit to Work and Isolation Certificate when requested
  • Technical coordination with multi-stakeholder work teams
  • Participate in Commission-ability review and Process Control Narrative review workshop
  • Represent Graham on multi stakeholder commissioning teams
  • Visual inspection and functional testing of any equipment and assembled system prior to the commissioning tests (including reliability, performance and Grid compliance tests)
  • Support Commissioning Specialist/project team in managing the list of the required documentation for what may regard the commissioning (as built and final), for handover to the Operation and Maintenance Units and for the official application, in order to credit the production incentives
  • Supervise the tests relating to the plant’s commissioning connected
  • Commissioning activities reporting on daily and weekly base

 Qualifications/Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Construction Management Diploma and/or an Instrumentation Engineering Technologist Diploma
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 Years’ Experience in construction environment (preferably with a General Contractor). Those with more years of experience may be considered for specialist roles.
  • Project Management Techniques (Project Costing, Code of Ethics, Contracts, Computer aided Drafting, Schedules, and Engineering Drawings), Design and Select Process Instruments.
  • Good knowledge of equipment for water and waste application, electrical safety standards and construction safety and environmental management
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Good communication, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working Water and Wastewater Treatment projects is a definite asset.
